Increasing Rail use in East Lancashire

Northern Rail reveals that East Lancashire has seen a growth in numbers.

Some of this increase includes students attending College and University Campuses in Burnley and Preston

If the Colne to Skipton Railway was reopened them more students from East Lancashire could have the choice of going to College in Skipton of University in Lleeds.

Patronage will undoubtedly increase, not only for students, but also for those accessing jobs and training, when the SELRAP Scheme becomes operational.

This increase in patronage would make Northern Rail's services less reliant on subsidies.
